Purpose

Give students the ethical and legal grounding to publish responsibly. Both Paly and Lowell operate under California's Student Press Freedom Act. Lowell's editorial independence controversy (2020–2025) is a nationally cited case study in student press rights. JEA's ethics curriculum is the national standard. AFY adds a bilingual translation-ethics component developed for its own context.
